Time tracking for consulting teams

Hours logged, approved and invoiced — without a spreadsheet.

TimeLog puts time entry, manager approval and per-project reporting in one place. Your team logs in seconds, and you close the month without reconciling anything by hand.

How it works

From logging to invoicing in three steps.

01

The team logs

A weekly grid or a calendar, with project, task and the day's total always in view.

02

The manager approves

One queue of pending entries, bulk approve or reject, and the reason goes back to whoever logged it.

03

You invoice

Hours consolidated by project and person, billable split from non-billable, exported as CSV.

Features

Everything a team that bills by the hour needs.

Weekly grid and calendar

Log on the week's grid or on the calendar. The same entry, whichever way each person prefers.

Allotted hours

Set a ceiling per project and per task. The database refuses any entry that goes over it.

Approvals

Managers review and approve time before it counts.

Time off

Ask for days away and have them decided where the hours already are, with the company's holidays on the same calendar.

Reports

Hours by project and person, billable against non-billable.

Invoices from hours

A month of hours becomes a printable invoice: a line per project, task and rate, priced by the wage in force on each day.

Exports

Take the numbers out as CSV for payroll and invoicing.

Email reminders

Daily nudges to log time, and a digest of what awaits approval.

Punctuality ranking

A leaderboard of who logs their time promptly, counted from when each entry was written. Off until a company turns it on.

AI assistant

Ask how TimeLog works in your own words and get the steps back.

Help centre built in

A searchable guide behind every screen, opening on the questions for wherever you are standing. On every plan, Free included.

Accessible by design

Built to WCAG 2.1 AA: usable from the keyboard, readable by a screen reader, and adjustable per person — less movement, higher contrast, larger text.

Questions

Frequently asked

How does approval work?

Every entry is submitted and lands in the manager's queue, where they approve or reject in bulk, filtered by person or project. A rejection comes back with a reason, and the person can fix it and log it again.

Can I cap the hours on a project?

Yes. You allot hours per project and per task, and the database itself refuses an entry that goes over the ceiling. An allotment of zero means no cap.

Can TimeLog invoice the hours?

Yes. A month of someone's hours prints as an invoice: one line per project, task and rate, priced by the wage in force on each entry's own day, so a raise in the middle of a month splits the line rather than averaging it. Each person bills in their own currency and nothing is ever converted, and the sheet counts what the reports count, so an invoice and a report of the same month agree.

What do the reports show?

Hours by project and by person, billable against non-billable, time against the allotted ceilings, the trend month by month and who has capacity to spare. Everything is aggregated in the database rather than in the browser, so a long period is one query and not a truncated list.

Is there a mobile app?

TimeLog installs from the browser: add it to the home screen and it opens full screen, with notifications on the phone once they are turned on. There is nothing to fetch from a store, and everybody is on the current version the moment it ships.

How does the trial work?

Every new company starts on Pro for 14 days without a card. When it ends the company falls back to Free — three people and two projects — and nothing is deleted; upgrade whenever, and the history is where you left it.

Which languages does TimeLog support?

Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), English, Spanish, German and French. Each person picks their own, and reminder and rejection emails go out in the recipient's language rather than the sender's.

Is TimeLog accessible?

Yes. It is built to WCAG 2.1 AA, every control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and the colours meet the contrast levels in both the light and the dark theme. Each person can also adjust the interface for themselves — reduce movement, raise contrast, enlarge the text, underline links — and those choices follow their account to any device.

Can another company see our data?

No. Each company is its own tenant, and the isolation is enforced by row level security in the database rather than by the screens, so a missing check in a page still cannot return another company's rows. Inside a company, access follows roles: a member sees their own time, a manager their team's, an administrator everything in that company and nothing beyond it.

Can I get my data out whenever I want?

Yes. On the paid plans, reports export to CSV at any time, ready for payroll and invoicing.
